Fight to Write!! 4 Battles You Will Encounter In Pursuit of Purpose

Published by MM Ryan 12/7/2023

You know God has called you to write, and you’re determined to move forward in your call with obedience. However, you have a real adversary working to prevent you from fulfilling this call and will throw everything at you to hold you back.

You must be knowledgeable and understand that just because God has called you doesn’t mean it will be easy. The battle you’ll be facing is bigger than you, however, remember, God is fighting with you!

Here are some of the obstacles you might encounter along the way and some thoughts on how to navigate them:

1. **Doubt and Confusion**: A common tactic of the enemy is to sow doubt and confusion into your mind. You may question your abilities, your message, or even the authenticity of your calling. To combat this, stay connected to your faith, remembering that this calling is not just a personal ambition but a mission inspired by God. Regular prayer, meditation, or conversations with trusted spiritual advisors can help reinforce your confidence in your calling.

2. **Discouragement and Despair**: The enemy may try to discourage you and make you feel like your efforts are futile, your faith is misplaced, or your goals are unattainable. This can lead to despair and a loss of hope. Counteract this by focusing on the promises of God.

3. **Distraction from Purpose**: The enemy can also work by distracting you from your calling or purpose. This might involve busyness with worldly concerns, overemphasizing material success, or simply causing you to lose focus on your spiritual goals. Stay committed to your calling by self-reflecting and prioritizing your spiritual goals.

4. **Lack of Discipline**: Writing requires a significant amount of discipline and dedication. Set aside regular time for writing and treat it with the same seriousness as any other important task or obligation. Discipline in your craft is a form of respect for the calling you’ve received.

Remember, the path of a writer, particularly one driven by a divine calling, is unique and deeply personal. Stay true to your journey, remain open to growth and learning, and trust in the guidance of your faith as you navigate these obstacles. Your writing is not just a form of expression but a testament to your commitment to your calling.
